If you check with their CS they might be willing to shave a S35VN blank down to your specs.

I googled the Bravo 1 LT. It seems to be about what I'm looking for, but I'm completely unfamiliar with 3V. I'm going to need to educate myself on some of the steels that have become popular over the past 5-10 years.
I also bought a ESEE-4 today. I had one in the past, but never used it. I want to give the new 4 a through test. I know they're not particularly comfortable, but with the custom grips being available (and the knife with sheath costing only 2x what a sheath costs for a Kin....) I figured why not?

My "fall back" plan for the ESEE-4 is to remove the scales, drill out the handle make my own skelly.

What's up with those Skellys?
To me, they are unbearable uncomfortable. Even when wrapped in paracord.
A good Bushcrafter, IMO, is all about having excellent grib.

I don't view a skelly as a primary blade. Its a secondary knife that wouldn't be carried at all if it were bulkier or heavier. Its also not called upon for "heavy duty use". They're only used for small tasks where a small finesse knife is needed.
I think of a skelly as a companion to a larger knife. I'm not a fan of a single 4" blade and have been trying to simplify. This means no 4" with full handle bushcraft and 10" chopper.
It means a 7" general purpose and 4" lightweight skelly.
Honestly, an ESEE-4 with scales doesn't weigh much more than one without...so that fits the need as well.

I like Gary's thinking on this. Heck, even a good sturdy "Pocket knife" would work.
I believe one should, when on "Walk about" ALWAYS carry at least two knives. A "Good sized" (What ever that means to you) fixed blade on your belt or pack and a smaller one (Also hopefully a fixed blade) possibly around your neck on a break a way lanyard/chain.

I think that it is still more the original shape. I'm talking a dropped point (sort of anyway). I LOVE the Muppy!

The Muppy still has more of a spear point shape to it.

Gary, I can recommend Survive! Knives. I have a GSO 3.5, which I absolutely love. It is a great little knife with the 3.4 inch blade, 1/8" thick. Nothing fancy about them, no new strange design. Just what I need with nothing I don't. Mine is in 20cv steal. It takes a wicked edge and holds it a loooonnnng time. I will definitely be picking up their 5 inch without choil when they come back out.
