I think Randy has a Bark River Gunny, a scaled down Bravo-1.

Looking forward to the comparison!

How about the BKs I have seen some modded ones that look like they might be great.

Gary, Spidy's right I do have a gunny. Wanna use it to compare? I was just gonna ask you if you want to try it.

The Survive! GSOs are one of the very very few blades outside of The Busse Family that catch my attention.

One of my two best mates has a Fallkniven and the other several Chris Reeves, all are nice baldes, I would not now pay the asking price for the CRKs but he got them as an investment and so far is doing well. I also keep coming back to my late 1980s Cold Steel SRK...!!

I have a semi custom blade from Stitch Knives and it is pure function (Elmax steel) in a smaller package (he also sent out one of his 1/2 tang blades that is with my best mate for field testing - as he gets to dress far more deer than I...!!!

I will probably add a GSO to my collection down the road.

I've also got an Ontario RAT TAK 1 but I've only used it once to try it out. It's way to heavy for me to get comfortable with it. It's one of the original ones and has just been setting forgotten in a drawer for years.

Andy, I had an SRK as well and really liked it. Carried it though out my temporary clean up duty after hurricane Andrew down in South Florida back in '91 or '92. It did ALL sorts of grunt work and never faltered. Wish I still had it, but it went over to the sandbox.

Sheep horn is my favorite natural handle material.

I've never handled a sheep horn handled blade, but everybody says they are really nice.

The "Nessmuk" style blades always seem about right to me. While Dan did a good job on the ScrapMuk I still find myself looking for thinner alternatives that are less expensive. I know some people see the wide/tall blade profile and think "skinning" but in the right hands it makes for several types of tools. I crushed plenty of garlic and cracked a few nuts on the side of my ScrapMuk. Yes, some pecans shot across the room but nobody was injured. And I can't say I would bother to try that with any other 4" or 5" blade that I own. I also found the bumped blade to make for a decent little light hammer. I dont remember what all I've hit with it but again my other knives don't quite offer the option.

I think if I had to be doing bushcraft stuff all day a "nessmuk" style blade would be my choice.
