I look at it like Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge.

I have tried to want a glock but I just don't like how they feel. I like the M&P a whole lot as is but of course it doesn't have the track record or following as the Glock brand. I only sold my M&P40 because I didn't want to invest in that caliber any more. A M&P9 might be an option but I think I'd prefer to have DA/SA firearms. I think I'm going with the CZ75 line of firearms and clones with my next few purchases.

The R51 is a nonstarter IMHO.

The Sheild was an impressive little gun. Again, I had zero malfs and she had two or three stove pipes. My wife is 5'4" x 115 pounds with very little upper body strength. The gun was stiff when new, and needed a strong wrist to keep the poly frame flex from short-stroking ejection. After I identified why it was SP'g we modified her stance and it cleared up. I think it'll be 100% for her (even if limp wristed) when it is fully broken in.

I forgot to add originally, it is nearly impossible to seat a fully loaded 7rd mag. You have to conduct the ill-advised "pop the base plate" to get it to seat / mag catch to engage.

Not a big deal, but worth noting.

I've had two full size and one compact M&P (plus the Shield). I bought the M&Ps when they first came out, and had an issue with them going fully into battery. This is a common compliant online.

Glocks do not have this problem even if you accidentally ride the slide a little during loading.

This "problem" with the M&Ps concerned me greatly and they were quickly sold. All told I probably only fired 500-600 rounds through the three.

Glocks aren't "contemporary" with regards to their ergos, but they are the most thoroughly tested and successful poly design. I trust Glock more than any other except perhaps the HK USP and children.

Our SF Types are issued USPs (2 Commando and SAS) I think they originally got them for the CT Teams and they then (with the involvement in Iraq and Arsecrackestan)moved out onto the hips and gear of guys in the green teams as well. The H&K does not fit my hand as well as a Glock, some of that may well be familiarity as well. I have had a 17 (at least) since the mid 80s when they has slick grips and no serial number plate on the frame.

The HK45 series has better ergos, but also the plastic buffer of the USP-C. The USP-F buffer is superior. They should have used it in the HK45.

Just fired 232 rounds of Wolf out of my two Scar-16s. I had my first ever Wolf ammo related failure. Had one fail to go off. It had been stored in my black SUV for five years (thru 0F winters and 105F summers) so it's hard to say if it was a bad primer or storage issue. Nonetheless, out of over 10,000rds of Wolf this has been my first issue.

So I actually was just looking at a h&k45 and was wondering if that or the usp 45 was better. Any thoughts.

I'm considering doing an AR build in the near future. It's either going to be a rifle in 6.8 SPC or a pistol in .300 BLK. I just need to decide which takes priority over the other.

I also debated between the two. I went with the pistol in .300 BLK because I did not have an AR pistol, the 6.8 SPC can't use AR 15 bolts or magazines and I can easily reform 5.56 brass into .300 BLK.

Yeah, the rifle would be dedicated 6.8 SPC if I decide to go that route. I already have a 5.56 rifle, so that's no big deal.

The rifle would be geared more toward hunting rather than defense. I just need to decide if I need another hunting rifle or another house pistol.

Id love to get a 300 blk rifle but I haven't seen enough ammo around here to justify it.

Does anyone here know who sells the best lower parts kits?
