Switching gears here.

I've never owned a SAK because I can never find one that has exactly the tools I want and nothing else. I would love to get a farmer with an added Phillips.

The other day I was thinking to myself that I would love one with a main blade and a saw and that's it. Did a search and nothing. Yesterday I stumbled upon one with those two tools plus an awl. I can find use for an awl, so I just bought it. It's a bit pricy, but it's made by SwissBianco so that's expected. I paid $55 including all fees, and I'm fine with that.

This is my first SAK and I hope it doesn't lead to another addiction.

I own a few SAKs I have used them but I rarely carry one they are usually in a tool bag or glove box. I think they are great in an emergency but I will usually look for the right tool any other time. YMMV

Favs from these are...Spyderco PPT, Military, Stretch, ZT and the Strider. There's a Microtech SOCOM Delta off to them for service, but that's getting flipped as soon as it lands back with me.

I've really enjoyed carrying the little Delica too..haven't carried a folder that small in a long time, but it's a great little cutter.

Sheesh, I think someone has an Arachnid Fetish. wink

As of late, I think that Vampirella (My edc Emerson Combat Karambit) needs a break. So I've been looking around and spied this

I've also looked at this one, but It doesn't really do anything for me.

[Linked Image from farm3.staticflickr.com]

Overall length: 7.9
Blade length: 3.4
Blade Thickness: .125

After "Playing" around with the K-bit I have grown to appreciate the "Wave feature" as a combat, self defense opening feature. But for edc I am enamored with the Thumb disc. It doesn't poke into you like the thumb stud does, at least not for me. and It doesn't seem (Although it probably does) to stick out as far as the stud. It just seems to me that it is more flesh and clothing friendly.

If I had this one I think that I would probably remove the wave feature. To ME, not being a S/D knife the wave feature would just be in the way.

While making these posts, I figured I'd just show my present "Hard Use Knives".

First Up, Vampirella

And here is her Daddy, Nosferatu grin

And lastly here is my only other Emerson, the CQC7A

And NO, these are not my actual knives, just pics I've Kipped off the interweeb.

YES, I know the Second pic isn't a folder. Deal with it! grin

I was just thinking "Randy took some great photos!" lol

I think I started with spydercos, wandered all over the place in my buying and am back to carrying them mostly. Although the ZT and Strider see a lot of pocket time. Been carrying the Strider 1/2 the week and it's a great folder.

You know, this one might be even better as an edc blade. Small and unobtrusive yet capable if really needed. And once again if you wanted, the wave feature could be ground off.

[Linked Image from farm6.staticflickr.com]

Overall Length 7.05 in.
Blade Length 2.95 in.
Blade Thickness .125 in.
Hardness 57-59 RC

Actually this is about the same size as my Kershaw JYD
