More than the Wilsons? Yikes!
I thought for a bit "If I saved $100 a month I could get one...in two years."

Ed Brown, $7500.00 OK, I was wrong. Wilson combat 8K. When you buy your two I'll rent one from you.

lol! They have a nice Ed Brown at my local Cabelas..that is a sweet looking firearm. Off to the range myself now. Not quite shooting like Gary...50 rds of 9mm and 160 of .22! Ouch! Better than nothing though.

Rich and Randy,
I sent postal money orders (plural since they are only available up to $1000 each) off yesterday afternoon for my latest 1911 addition:
Ed Brown Executive Elite with: (Added cost) Skipline checkering (Added cost) Gen3 coating over stainless
I've had three Les Baer (currently own one) and have always wanted to try a Ed Brown. So when I traded my SA TRP last week I needed another 1911 to fulfill my "two of each" principle.
I stepped up to the plate big time on this one. Reports to follow after it arrives.
The Brown will be my carry gun while the Stainless LB will be the reserve. I'm choosing the EB EE for carry because:
1) coated stainless (no shiny reflections to get me killed) 2) no tool take down. LB require tools because they are extremely tight.
Rich, Save and buy right. You will never regret getting the best gun. You will always second guess anything less.

Les Baer is the best value in a semi-custom. The DW Valor is a great gun but for an extra $350 you can have a Baer with much greater resell potential and EXCEPTIONAL accuracy.

I do agree with a lot of what arch has to say... The very things he mentions is what braught me to the kin.

It's nice to just get out, take a break from daddy duties, relax and shoot. Shooting (and archery) are very zen/relaxing for me...except when I suck at shooting! Hah! Gary, I figure you are right. I could be more patient and get a real beauty...with CZ distributing the Dan Wessons...plays into my CZ loyalties! Read an accuracy review by a big 1911 guy...Dan Severn??? He documented some insane accuracy with Valors he modded. The new Springfield Armory RO Commander looks sweet to me too. When should you get the Ed Brown and what time should I come over to shoot it?!

I figure payment and FFL will land on Monday or Tuesday. It's being shipped the same day so I should have it Thursday. I ran over to the range to sight in my 10/22 Takedown. Here's the 50 yard results with fifteen year old Thunderbolts. FIVE SHOT GROUP @ 50 YARDS WITH IRON SIGHTS ![[Linked Image from i62.tinypic.com]](http://i62.tinypic.com/50mt6e.jpg) This was my first trip out with this rifle. I think with quality ammo and me trying harder - it'll definitely do it's specified function (back pack game meat slayer).
