IF you have the ways/means to have your own garden you can preserve your bounty but IF you consider buying the plants/seeds, and everything needed to process/save it and consider your time and any fertilizer/pest control it isn't as cheap as folks think.

We were at Walmart the other day, and Bacon was selling for AN AVERAGE of $4.75-$6.43 a pound!

How has Patty with the heat this summer She got really hot one day and it had her down for about 4 days. she would sleep sometimes for 12 hours and still tired. She has pretty much came out of it now though and isn't doing to bad.

Up here bacon is around $8 per pound
Our normal price was around $4.50 - $5.00

I know when day had the farm (60 acre hobby farm, hogs and cattle) he didn't get near the "Profit" that the middle guy/retailer did.
