Finally made it to the gun show and apparently the good stuff was gone in the first 30 minutes. I was tempted by a few things, but there wasn't anything there I couldn't live without. The only money I spent was for admission.

I will usually go on to gun shows late on the last day I'll scope out a few deals and then when its time for the dealers to pack up I'll go up to the tables with cash in hand. The last couple of shows have been worth the admission price.

I continued researching the Versamax after asking about it, and I know you guys didn't give it the highest praise, but other than a few anecdotes of poor performance, mostly related to the hammer which was recalled, and components and systems that Remington has since optimized, I couldn't find anything really really bad about it.

I think I'm going to give this one a whirl, and see for myself. I'll post pics and vids I'll probably pick it up around the 15th, I think.
