Yeah the guys death really hit Derek hard. I'd met the guy about 3 times and he was really full of life.

It's a dangerous profession, flying. we're lucky my aviation unit hasn't had any injuries, especially with a Search and Rescue mission like ours, people can get really hurt doing some of the stuff we train on. I think the worst thing that's happened to us was a broken FLIR ball. I hope his family can heal from it, though.

He didn't pull up in time at the end of a field and went into the trees. They thing he was "Showing out" for the farmer that was watching him. BUT he had only picked up the plane he was flying the day before and they said it didn't have as much power as his older one.

haha, yeah, I've watched Crop dusters fly before, you've gotta have a few bones of crazy in you to do it.
