Lucky man to have a wife who gave you the go ahead on a whim You're going back tomorrow, right?

No, surely he got the DPMS since he passed on the Bushmaster due to the price.

Haha, nope, not getting either one. I have a .308 bolt action and my AR15. I can't just spend that much on something I don't really need.

Went to Wally World and sauntered over to the sporting goods section. I never should have gone. There in the showcase were TWO evil black .308 rifles! One was a bushmaster and the other a DPMS. The DPMS was a C note less than a grand. The Bushmaster was 277 more than that. Patty told me to buy it. I just couldn't. Do you think Patty would be able to come out and spend a week or two with my wife? I'll pay for the first class airplane tickets.

She threw up her hands, smiled and said "I'm gone"!

Cerakote is worth it, no matter what you do with it I plan on Duracoating the truck yellow, and Line-Xing the bottom half of it later on.

I emailed the two local applicators and asked for quotes. Do they coat over the anodizing?

I think they can, over anodizing I don't think it will make a huge difference. If it were Parkerized steel, I would recommend having it bead blasted first. Cerakote adheres better to bare metal. If there is a layer of anything in between, that's just another layer of potential failure if it loses adhesion for some reason. Check with the applicator, they're trained up on the best practices and can give you a better answer.

GD did you ever get the estimates for the coating?
