Hey all, in the hospital again today having knee surgery. Fairly routine, but I never get used to it. Supposed to go under the knife around 1030 or 1130, depending on how fast they can get me in. Just hoping to make it to 50 before I have replacement. Not sure that's gonna happen, but a squirrel can dream. Thanks!

Hope they use Elmax blades  Prayers sent! My dad delayed his hip surgery for a loooong time and he´s now over happy and says he should have done it 10 years ago...

Thanks everyone. Surgery was positive. I was afraid my meniscus would be at 50% or less. Doc said the tear was such that if he removed it, the meniscus would have been at 0%. He stitched it and then abraded the surrounding tissue to get blood to the area (middle of meniscus has no blood supply, needed to allow it to repair). No OATS procedure was necessary, but because of the repair (right in the middle and bearing the weight) I need to stay off of it for at least a week, possibly a month. Due to the tears in the rotator cuff I can't use crutches well, so I'm using a walker. Feeling pretty geriatric At least it shouldn't be a horrible or excessively long recovery (might have needed up to 9 months), although the PT is gonna be miserabled, especially if my knee is immobile for a month! feederle, would love to replace the joint, but given my genetic make up, it would mean I would be without knees by age 60 and then I'd really be screwed. I'm not a normal patient.

Did you get a sponge bath from a pretty nurse ???? That always helps in the post op recovery phase....well....so I am told....
