What small knife would be half as good as a SS4 (excluding Busse warden etc)??

What about a Shaker?

Wouldn't that come under "excluding Busse Warden etc"?

Well, I didn’t think so because I meant a Swamp Rat Shaker, not a Busse. Mine is 3/16”, I don’t think they made a Busse one that thin. I think ¼” is overkill on a knife that small, and makes it heavier so it’s not as comfortable as a neck knife.

A Coot is a similar knife to the SS4, but costs nearly as much. Coots have been going for about $150 when you can find them. With that high of a markup, I’d probably wait for the non-INFI SS4 instead of a Coot.

Really though, the Shaker is a great knife. I don’t know why they don’t make more, everyone should own one. Dan, you should crank out thousands of em for us. They’re smaller, cheaper, less shop time, no handle material to cost extra, etc. They’d make great gifts or stocking stuffers too.

yes and they would compliment all the rest of our scrapyards, "Papa knife, Momma knife, and baby knife!" plus various cousins and stay overs

Ya know, that’s kinda funny that you said that. I’ve had a knife obsession for almost my whole life, since I could walk I believe. When I was in 1st or 2nd grade my parents were called to a parent teacher conference because my teacher was concerned because we were told to make up a story and write about it, and I wrote a story about a knife family, with a Mommy knife, a Daddy knife, and a Baby knife. I guess they thought it was weird or strange, and concerned with my “weapon” fascination.
