Cz9r, I hadn't heard of any issues in all the 1111 reviews I have seen, not until DT's comparison thread. I wouldn't worry about it much. Don't go in with preconceived ideas or worries. Wait and find out for yourself. I don't own an 1111, all I can tell you is, the only vibrations I have felt when using the 711, 911, or 1311, is when I batonned real seasoned hard wood with the 711, the wood was not giving up easy and I felt every baton hit. But as I said, that was real hard wood. If you are chopping wood and biting into it, I don't think you should have much problem.

SH - do you think what happened was from the angle you struck from, or from reverberation from the handle?
All feedback is appreciated.

It was from the the knife blade slamming sideways. Only times It's happened. When I "Hit the mark", no problems.

YUP, use with confidence. You won't have any problems the Res C is some amazing stuff. And the incident I talked about above is the ONLY time I have experienced that and I've done quite a bit of chopping.

I believe the OP referred to my post.
All I was trying to express that in my opinion that 1111's stock is too thick. I was comparing shock level to 7, 9 & 13, and for me 11 allows a lot more shock through to the hand. Not as much as solid handle full tang chopper, but much more than the other Res-C knives.

That's what has kept me away from all the solid tang solid handles for big choppers except my R9 but I never use it for chopping.
