I saw this thing (Maybe on youtube) on a long pole. It had two sides and a bottom, and you stood on the ground, and shoved it UP your roof to remove snow, like digging a trench. On the handle end (a LONG handle) was a plastic mat rolled up. As you shoved it up your roof it unrolled as the snow slid down it and onto the ground.

The NWS for our area (Paducah NWS) is saying a possible 3-5 inches of snow mixed with sleet today and an additional 3-5 inches of snow possible tonight.

Way I see it is that if they want me to work tonight one of the Deputies can come and pick me up. What kinda makes it worse is that it has been raining since yesterday evening and they are unable to put down salt or a salt water mix. So anything that hits and freezes will be there.

Well the ground is starting to turn white from the sleet. Snow hasn't started yet, or at least if it has you can't tell it yet. We're have 31 degrees here now, so we're right on the cusp of it turning bad. It was just a matter of time.

There is a real danger of damaging your roof if you rake it improperly.

Well the rain stopped some time ago and the sleet stopped about an hour ago. It's all snow now, and plenty of it!
I called work and told them I wasn't going to drive in tonight and to see if they could get someone to work for me. I was told a deputy would come pick me up.
