Well look who stopped by! Last you posted, you were about to pick up a new Ed Brown...and then nada!! That's just not right. Good to hear from you Gary! Well, the Ed Brown was a big disappointment. It wouldn't reliably cycle. Ed Brown's solution was to sell me replacement magazines and recoil springs. With $100 worth of replacement parts in my $2,800 handgun (and it still not going one mag without 2 stoppages) I called it quits. I'm totally out of the 1911 game now. No Les Baers (even though they always worked) or Ed Browns. I'm an all Glock and HK guy again (for serious work anyway).

Hey Adam - good to hear from you. I was thinking about you the other day while I was evaluating my gear. I'm in the process of a complete gear revamp, and part of this is a new Belt Order knife. Your 511MO greatly impressed me.
I love my 511MO. It is my little big knife. I'd be interested in reading about your revamp process, if you feel like posting about it. Its a pretty complicated ordeal. It is unlikely that I'll post about it. It would, however, be an interesting topic.

That is my one complaint with Yard knives is their small handles. I like proper sized handles even on small bladed knives Some people prefer small handles on small blades because of looks or symmetry I don't, I prefer a handle that fits my hands My major compliant about Busse Combat is the oversized handles. I agree that the "basic" Scrapyard handle is too small. The mudder is securely textured, but the angle makes me feel cramped. The Reg handle was HUGE but comfortable.

That is my only gripe with the 511. If it bothers me enough I can easily remove some material from the protrusion on the end of the handle in order to flatten it a bit. That would make it much more roomy. I've just been hesitant to do it. DON'T DO IT. Love that knife.
