I have one of the thin .18 proto versions with a recurve that feels great despite having some overthinned prototype related performance issues resulting in a surprisingly rippled edge from chopping. So I went ahead and ordered a full sized MMD in sage/black canvas. I hope the heavier version feels as good in hand and I know it won't have any issues.

I was about to buy one of the protos! How bad was the rippling? I am really looking for a thinner blade as opposed to the really thick .28" blade. How did the handle feel? it looks comfy! MM

As someone who has used a lot of Bussekin blades over the years, I would skip the proto and go straight for full on MMD or possibly a thinner variant that isn't a proto if offered at Blade or the like. If you want details beyond the thin full flat grind proto didn't hold up to chopping I would have to take it to PM.

That's fine. I guess there's a reason that the proto's did not make it into production MM

MMD is a great deal, but I'm holding out for Dan. Come on Dan...

I was hoping to throw Dan my extra cash but this is very tempting. I have handled this beast...very cool. If you are a fan of 77 I don't know how or why you would pass this up My 2 cents Dan
