I stripped the paint off my DF today, and discovered this "Z" on the tang. This is a special DF.

very cool. my dumpster mutt's finish is very smooth now but none of it has worn as the characteristic consequent of chopping. once that begins i may strip it.

I found a lightning bolt lookin' scratch on my Rat Mastiff a long time ago. I dunno how they got there, because the only thing I’ve used it for is chopping wood, and I don’t think that wood could scratch into the steel like that. Maybe it was always there under the coating. Anyone else find anything on theirs?

This is about like when we were looking for shapes and patterns in the crinkle coating. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

(it’s at the top, by the spine)

That is the Sig rune, Andy. Sometimes called Sowilo. It is the rune of the sun. It is the power of human will, victory, success. Thats a lucky mark on your Rat Mastiff.

I used the 15 minute paint remover from Walmart. It took two applications, but it worked pretty well on the DM and the DF. Tony recommended it. It would not touch the baked on epoxy on my Ontario Survival. Maybe I left it out too long and it lost its potency.

Very cool! I have been thinking of striping my DF. I wonder if I will find any cool symbols?
