I looked up the study. They have some pretty dubious rankings when it comes to "freedoms", Communists, socialists and some of the populations with the least personal freedoms ranked well above the U.S. I find it hard to take the "study" seriously. I will agree with the study that we do not enjoy the freedoms we once did and that they have lowered recently. 1. Hong Kong 2. Switzerland 3. Finland 4. Denmark 5. New Zealand 6. Canada 7. Australia 8. Ireland 9. United Kingdom 10. Sweden 11. Norway 12. Austria 12. Germany 14. Iceland 14. Netherlands 16. Malta 17. Luxembourg 18. Chile 19. Mauritius And then finally.. 20. United States Just after the U.S., 21. Czech Republic 22. Estonia 22. Belgium 24. Taiwan 25. Yeah, I wondered about the rankings as well, specially after I saw some of the countries that ranked above us. Oh well, one thing we CAN all agree on is that we are loosing the "Freedoms" we used to have.

Oh, ONE thing they did say was a big contributing factor was all the government regulations on virtually everything.

That's what threw me off the most. Nearly everything is illegal in the U.K.
They are a small step away from thought police. I have a few friends in the Isle of Man and Britain. I am shocked by some of the things that are criminal. Mostly in relation to free speech.
