I think the only decent thing to do is demand the girl remove the offending piece of clothing!

All kidding aside, I believe that parts of the flag can not comprise clothing (the striped bikini) but a picture or image of the full flag on clothing is acceptable. Can anyone clarify? It is not unusual to see hats or shirts with images of the flag on it.

Well now that that MP5 has offended the Flag you better give it to me, I will take care of it.

I don't buy into the unquestionable primacy of the Flag Rules and Regulations. If Full-Auto wants to show his respect the way he tried to, his respect still stands; and anyone who would take offense because he violated their notions of appropriate flag treatment and depiction ought to reconsider.

Mike - I don't think anyone feels like F/A showed disrespect for the flag - quite the opposite. The rules and regulations of flag display are nothing new, and many times are unintentionally over-looked. His intentions were of the highest caliber, and in fact we can all thank him for his service to our great nation. Tom

Unless the bikini is made from a cut up flag, then it is only made from fabric with a flaglike pattern.

I liked the photo.
That said tell me more about this bikini girl. I believe as well that we should just have them remove the offending bikinis, this will ease the tension.

I, personally, was not offended by the photo and I liked the thought behind it. I've just been conditioned by my Dad to expect someone to bring up flag etiquette and I expected someone to point out the rules. I think it was a very nice photo, but I'm sure my Dad would have been on the phone to you as soon as he saw it, but even he seems to have mellowed lately so who knows?
Sorry guys, no flag bikini pictures here.

I liked the picture too, and I don't feel it was disrespectful in anyway. I feel it was a proud shot of something he is proud of.

I showed it to my Dad and he really liked it and did not feel you were disrespecting the flag. If he isn't upset I'd say you did a good job in presenting your feelings. He said it made him think of protecting the right to keep and bear arms.
