I am pretty new to the yard as a posting member, but have hung out alot reading posts, and have come across alot of useful information. I think I made it on time to snag a Yard Hook, or Hooker as some of you call it I already own a SWKW Uncle Mojo, and I was wandering if you folks can educate me further please. The SW Mojo id 6 3/4inch long (SR 101) and the Hook being 7" long (SR77).. taking blade length + steel composition in to consideration, in that length-style of blade are both steels going to perform about the same or will one have a slight "edge" LOL over the other.

Welcome to the Yard.

All the feedback the Dogs have given you is solid.

All the Busse steels are amazing.

ScrapYard sets itself apart with the Performance to Price ratio...the standard to measure by.

I would love to post some pics, but the digital camera is somewhat out of commission at the present time, if they re release the black coated blade sometime after the LE...it looks like I will possibly have two DF's, as will most of you I'm sure. But for now I cant wait to get my hands on a Hooker

I have a Hooker and an M6 which has the same handle and very close to the same blade length as the Mojo. I prefer the Res C handle especially with my small hands. If you have really big mitts you might prefer the Mojo. Some people who are used to extremely high end blades like Busse's, Strider's and Chris Reeve have mentioned that the only real issue with Scrapyard is edge retention is not great.
It is only when compared to excellent knives that cost 2 or 3 times as much as a Scrapyard that it is even noticeable. The SR 101 gives up a bit of toughness for more edge retention although the differential heat treat helps in that regard.

I would choose a Scrapper for a hard use big blade where toughness is the most important and a Swamprat for a smaller or predominantly woodworking blade.
