Sweet looking blade PoP. That handle material is perfect. A really classy knife.

I saw this one talked about on BF. Not a bad looking blade. Looks very funcitonal.

I wouldn't want to compare the Browning against a DF, Bors. If anything, I'd be more inclined to compare it to an RD-9. Given the fact that the Browning comes with a leather sheath, is likely to be a reasonably good chopper, has micarta handles and a satin finish, it's got to be considered a bargain at $139.95.

I don't think it's as much of a bargain as the DF. On the surface you get more with the nice polish and the nice leather sheath but under the surface where it really counts the DF is way above and a much better value. This is a mass produced knife designed for average users.

It would be a nice knife to add to the collection non the less just not the one I would grab headed into a storm.

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....

There is nothing he did in the demonstration that a good sharp Ontario Camp Machete can't do. Nice knife. Looks like a good deal to me. If a lighter, faster flat ground blade is what you want, I have had this one since 1994.

This is a great all-around camp knife for about $50. It is not in the same league as the Dog Father, though. It has served me well. Plain old 1095 steel.

Fabulous knife, PoP. Would I be correct in surmising that the Skyblade cost a wee bit more than $139.95? (Just want to be sure we're comparing apples to apples. )
You caught me Bruce.

This was a wee bit more than 140 according to my bride.
But what ever she spent it is worth every penny.

Peace.

My nice and shiney Competition blade made by Todd Orr of Skyblade knives. It is 1/4 inch ATS-34 the blade is 9 inches and 14 1/4 overall with Presentation grade Madison Maple scales and some tastfull file work on the spine. I named it "Impossible" for many reasons.I name a lot of my knives. Silly eh?

It is amazing to hold, and sharper than any knife I have ever owned,my wife ordered it for me last Christmas. I love my wife dearly.

Peace.
That knife is high art, Pop. It is a thing of beauty.

I love comp knives. I have said before that a DF with a really thin edge and a skilled user could do very well against the high end customs.

I am not really interested in the cheap Browning version but if their is a CPM 3V
or other really nice tool steel version then I am interested. It would have to have the same exact geometry of the most recent comp model though.

Did I say $139.95? Try $110.00 !!!

Darn you, Bruce. You just cost me $30! Next time you show us some new knife to lust after, please give us the Frugal Bruce's Discount El Cheapo price along with it. Wouldn't you know that after all the years I used to get AG Russell's catalog, I would not order from them because I thought they were too high. So, I order on line from them and the next day I have buyer's remorse...and I haven't even got the knife yet!
