Thanks Skunk! The main draw of Res-C to me is the shock absorbing ability it provides in chopping duties. If this is really more of a bushcraft-style knife, I don't think I can justify picking one up. Covered in the bushcraft dept with an RMD and Mud Mutt. Covered in the chopping dept with 911 and 1311.

Evil Spock. At the price you better get one. Personally it is the blade shape I have always wanted Dan to bring out. I LOVE that blade profile. It should suffice as a LIGHT chopper, being a quarter inch thick it will do a passable job just not on a par with dedicated chopper type knives. I ordered a BGASH1 when I saw the price and Dang it if Dan didn't come out with his own LOWER PRICED version with the same steel! I should have waited. Oh well, this will be my dedicated belt knife, at least for a while until I see how it really works out for me. Your mileage may of course vary depending on your using habits.

Seriously I don't think you will regret it. It's I think pretty much the perfect size blade (UNDER 7 inches) for an all around tool. I wouldn't even be upset if it were 6 inches. I personally would rather it be 3/16 inch thick (The BGASH! and the TRASH1 both), but that is cause I am OLD SCHOOL (Yeah I'm approaching 62) and have just grown more used to that blade thickness for MOST uses.

I'm kinda bummed. I think we would've had a really value priced group of knives with 1095. Yes, we can still buy the TRASH at SR101 prices but it won't last, and it probably won't happen again. 18 THOUSAND pounds of 1095, c'mon, give us some 1095 k-nives!
