Randy, I cut off the top piece of one of my Regulator style handles with my Cold Steel Voyager XL pocketknife. It's easy! I used my CGDF to "De-Regulate" mine...yep Dog-Eat-Dog MM

I've thought about that more than once Tom, and If I still had the Other Regulator I might do it. But I reckon I'll just keep this one the way Dan made it, UNLESS I really start using it hard.

A little easier to choke up on the blade and better able to guide it with your thumb supporting.

Well I have never seen me using it for any bushcrafting - to be honest I just like to hold it in my hand

YUP what Tom said PLUS if you hold it in an Ice Pick grip and lay the spine along your forearm it will lay a lot flatter.

Another good point, especially if you use the reverse-grip style of knife fighting.

Just make sure it is laying along the muscle, NOT on the bone! If it's on your bone and you use it to block a strike it WILL hurt!

Did you do any martial art knife fighting or was that in your military training?
