Boy I'm in for it now. Which one do I pick?

OK, I will have either my S5, S6 or Wardog on my Go belt. Each one a good all around blade, but leaning toward the S5 or Wardog due mainly to their thinner blade thickness, and for "Bushcraft" I just like the points on them better. AND it is possible that once I get my TRASH1, IT will be on my belt instead of one of the previously three listed blades. We will see.Oh I should mention I will have my Muppy on my pants belt.

My Choice is what do I carry in/on my Pack? I have three choices in mind.

1. MY 711, a gift from a GREAT dog (which makes it special).
2. Busse B8LE.
3. My future Leaner Chop House.

If YOU are faced with this or a similar problem, which would you carry, or do I need to worry about a larger blade at all?

711, for sure.

I have the Basic 6, and I imagine the handle to choil ratio is about the same as on the Basic 8.
My 711 just feels better in hand than the Basic 6, when reaching for the choil.
I think it is the added talonhole, which means that you have to reach just a little further for the choil on the Busse Basics than on the ScrapYard Basics.

Can't give any insight on the Chop House. But I am pretty sure, it will rock. I would have gone for the Thick Chop House, however.
I like 'em a little on the fat side.

There's no doubt the Thick cut will hit harder, but I am willing to sacrifice the slightly less penetration of the Leaner for the weight savings and speed.

Thanks, I am leaning toward the 711 but want to get others opinions. But then again, that might change once the Leaner arrives.

I agree with the B8. More corrosive resistant should mean less upkeep if not used for long stretches at a time. The 711 was my favorite knife for a while. Near perfect size for almost any task. Then I got the B8 and sold the 711. They were just to similar.

I REALLY like the 711 and as you said, it's a GREAT size. I doubt I will ever get rid of it as it was a gift from a fellow dog. I'm kinda sentimental that way.

I like the Lean Chop house. Mine will probably go in my BOB, my GHB now has a RMD, it may have a TRASH1...we will see soon...

Right now my 7-11 is probably my favorite all around do it all blade.

The RMD comes in a distant 2nd.

B8! That's what I keep in my hunting pack and has been very handy.
The GHB (urban ) has a Regulator in it at the moment. It's the best compromise of quality and price point, just in case it gets stolen from the vehicle. Been there before.

6" is my magical cross over from SR101 to INFI length. 6" and under is definitely SR101, 6-7" is my gray area. 7" and up is always INFI.
