lazi, A friend who is also an FFL had one of the Anschutz "22 Scars". He said it shot very well. I never had a chance to shoot it. However, there are other models that LOOK more like a Scar. The ISSC MK22 is more closer to the original: http://www.legacysports.com/mk22http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/11/robert-farago/gun-review-issc-mk22/I have no personal experience with either gun. My feelings on 22LR replicas of larger military designs can be summarized as: they usually look neat, function poorly and have miserable accuracy. Many people, myself included, have found the 10/22 TD to be more accurate than the traditional model.

If I read right ISSC has something to do with both the RX22 and the MK22. But it seems the Anschutz version has a better barrel, trigger group, and overall better build the the MK22. I was seeing the MK22 for $199 but all the reviews were either made or mixed. While looking at the MK22 I stumbled across the Anschutz version for $299 which seems to get pretty good reviews. With the better barrel they are some folks saying it's on par with what can be expected from Anshcutz.
I want a tactical .22 just for giggles but I also want a practical .22 like the 10/22. I thought about just having two 10/22 rifles. One with a fancy stock and One TD but with all the new tactical guns I'm sort of taking the bait. I realize these tacticool firearms will likely become obsolete and the parts will be hard to come by. But I don't intend them as my go to for anything other than range and recreation.

Again, its second hand information, but my FFL friend thought very highly of his Anshutz version. He said it shot very well (this guy was is a retired LEO who was a firearms instructor for a lot of years).
If you get one - be sure to post a review.

If you're wanting something just for fun, you can look into the 10/22 "Dress Up Kits". Example: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/33...ith-magazine-ruger-10-22-synthetic-blackAt the end of the day, the rifle is still a 10/22 which usually works with boring regularity.

I'm looking to pick up a new handgun for variety in my shooting and variety in preparations. Looking at either a Ruger Sp101 .357 4" barrel or a Glock 21. Do have a little yearning for a 1911...thought About splurging on a Dan Wesson Heritage, but doubt I'll spring for that. One of the reasons for thinking about the Ruger is that I'll pick up a 22 version of it down the road.
Whichever one I get...I'll get the other next year...using bones money to spread out the buys.

Although...part of me says buy more ammo instead and practice more.
For some reason...more guns does not make me a better shot! ;-)

I understand the urge to switch up. I'm probably the most guilty person you'll ever meet, haha.
I would recommend you stay clear of that Ruger. It's a beast in 357.

I would primarily shoot .38, just wanted the option of 357.
My indoor range can't even handle 357!

Any opinions on Vepers? I am really attracted to them lately I can't decide weather to go with the x54r or go with the 308.

RN, I saw were you were letting the 527 go. sucks it didn't stick with you. I haven't gotten any amazing accuracy out of mines but it's been plenty accurate for deer and it's light so it's a keeper.
There was only a couple rifles I wanted as much as the CZ527 and one was a Ruger 77/357. Reason I'm mentioning it is if you are looking at a SP101 you may consider a 77/357 down the road to replace the 527. This would give you a matching rifle and pistol combo and you'd still have a nice intermediate woods bolt rifle for when the kids get older.

Not for hunting, but that is why I went with the Beretta CX4 9mm Carbine and PX4 Pistol. One Caliber and One magazine (I use 20 rounders).

I found a LGS that will sell a saiga sporter, so when I find one for a decent price, I'll pick one up. Still like the 7.62 x 39 round for CT. I wish the Storm was still legal in CT, it looks like a lot of fun and a nice home defense weapon.
