That's the way to do it, adjusting for the seasonal differences and rotating any perisables. Refresh the water too.

I TRY and not have any water older than a month in my water bottles in the pack, but I have missed a couple months. Good thing Stainless Steel doesn't do anything to the taste.

I'm not TO worried about the perishables. I've got a couple MRE's in there, and I am thinking REAL SERIOUSLY about getting some Mountain House freeze dried food pouches instead. Not really sure yet.

I have a few "Arctic" canteens; they're double-walled and survive the cold temps. But I still refresh them regularly. The General is heading off to bed, so I guess I will too. Take care and stay safe! Good night.

I've thought about getting an Artic Canteen and carrier, but haven't actually done it.
