Pelvic shot is almost certainly fatal.

FWIW: I pray none of us ever have to make this decision. I dread the thought of being forced to defend my life with any force.

I AGREE GARY! I have shot at someone before, and have pulled my weapon as a police officer, but that is different.

Yep no one thinks about the toll ending a life has on you even when it is justified.

Cracking the pelvis is SOP for dealing with armoured hostiles ie wearing a vest and/or helmet that precludes a shot being placed into the one of these zones. Crack the pelvis, to at least immobilise the hostile and then continue to manage accordingly.

Yep makes sense. Hey Architect was it you that ordered a EB 1911?

Yes.
Already sold it. EB's continued solution to selling a $2300 1911 that WOULD NOT WORK was to keep selling me parts at retail.
I will never own another EB product.

Since your going to ask:
It wouldn't feed, cycle or extract reliably.
Ammo used: Federal, PMC, Remington, Winchester, others.
Rounds fired: 600+.
Reliabilty: 1-2 failures per mag.
Mags: Ed Brown (inc those he sold me at retail to fix the problem), Wilson, Chip McCormick.
Same ammo and mags worked 100% in the two Les Baer I had at the time. Buy a LB and don't look back. Most accurate handguns I've fired (have had three).

Wow that's amazing. What do you think the best 1911 for or less than $2000 is?
