We've got a gun and knife show coming up about 30 miles away this next weekend and we just got our tax refund! I am thinking about taking my 9mm Kel-tec pistol (PF9) with me and try to work up a trade.
I've been watching Videos and reading about the Taurus Curve and the reports were favorable. FOR WHAT IT IS DESIGNED FOR. I might try and get one for Patty to keep on the night stand. I think it might work pretty well what with having a white light AND a laser that can be activated together. Using the right ammo I think it would work as a good deterrent for anyone that may try to get to her. The Absolute longest range she would have would be no more than 30 feet, mostly less than 7 yards!

I haven't looked a the curve but I had a Taurus PT738 for a couple years. It worked well but you had to slingshot the slide to make sure it fed the first round. It was very light weight and easy to carry. I liked it for what it was.
I've been thinking about getting one of the new S&W BodyGuards without the laser and the safety deleted. I have my Shield but that little .380 was way easier to carry. My Shield will slip into a pocket but that little .380 was more like a cell phone or a wallet. Now that it's gone I sort of miss having a small pistol that I can just slip in my pocket. I only got rid of the Taurus because I didn't want to screw with anything .380. Now that it's been gone I think I may just have to accept that a .380 pistol is the way to go if I plan to have something on me at all times.

Is the .380 classified as a mouse cartridge? By some yes, but I prefer to think of it as a Rat cartridge. It's not really that big but it will still tear you up at close range!

380 is my minimal carry round...and only when we can't carry a more powerful alternative.
We both have Ruger LCP and wouldn't part with them for any reason. They're ammo sensitive but after determining what they like ... Haven't had a single malf. They're tiny and can be concealed easily.
Randy - for a nightstand gun I'd look for a 9mm. The light is a good addition.

I just read the Curve doesn't have sights. That is RETARDED. I don't care if it comes with two laser aiming devices ... I won't own a gun without some sort of "iron" sight.

I also love my LCP when I am in shorts and a T-shirt. I carry my LCP with ball only but have been thinking about trying the new copper HP rounds in it as they expand and penetrate well.

Oh I have other options open for her. 1. Walther ppk .380 2. French Walther pp .32 3. kel-tec pf9 9mm 4. Couple different 9mm's
I COULD mount a white light on one of the larger guns, but she is worried about getting woke up in a daze and possibly missing. That is why I was hyped up about the white AND laser lights on the Curve. I'm not real keen on the NO SIGHTS either, but figured if I could get it right (Maybe even trade in the Kel-tec) it would be worth playing with and with her range IF she had to use it would work out to be less than 10 feet. The max range I stated earlier is if they were at the FAR end of the house and she was at the complete opposite end.
