I always preferred reloading 45 over 9 too. I foolishly sold my reloading equipment MANY years ago (12-15).

The 9 v 45 is no different than AR v AK or Ford v Chevy. I'm a 9, AR, Ford guy. Nothing wrong with being a 45, AK, Chevy guy.

Oooooo Redheads! smile

Oh sorry, I got distracted. OK. After thinking about it for a while the Malaga may be a bit to small to house the Glock 17 I had considered carrying in it. BUT It would house my Walther PPK .380 quite nicely. OR If I wanted to get fancy smancy, I could carry my Walther .32 PP!

OK, in .380 what would be a really good carry round. I think that right now I have a box of Corbon left over. What round (brand/weight etc) would you recommend. I guess I could carry my LC9 but would like to have one to put in it and forget it.

Well after reading several articles and watching videos I MIGHT be using my Kel-Tech PF-9 for the Malaga gun. AFTER I figure out the ammo I plan on using and verify it will reliably cycle with said load. I had forgot all about that gun, but "The truth about guns" recommends it and so do some others.

Randy, I've not commented because the only gun you've listed that I'd trust is the Glock. I carry a LCP often, but only because it's the smallest / lightest gun available that is marginally reliable. If I were going to carry a man purse it would have a Glock 9mm in it. If I bought a murse that was too small for a Glock 17 I'd: a) buy a bigger man purse b) trade one or more of my lesser guns for a Glock 26.

Googled the Malaga. It's plenty big for the 17.

I was hoping that the G17 would fit in it. That would give me 35 rounds with just one spare mag. IF that doesn't work out, one of the other dispatchers has a .380 Glock he isn't all that keen about.

Oh and PLEASE don't hold off on your comments. That's another reason I post these things, to get feedback from folks that HAVE done what I am talking about or have at least STUDIED it more than I have. And The only reason I picked the PF-9 over the others is it's a 9mm. The Walthers are a .380 and a .32acp. I GUESS I could pack my S&W model 60-10 with the three inch barrel. I have an ammo wallet that holds 18 spare rounds. smile

MOST of the time I research things fairly well, but still, there is NOTHING like hearing from folks with real world experience.

I have Carried a handgun off and on (working for the Sheriff's office) here in the county for several years. BUT I wasn't worried to much about a CCW weapon because everybody knows me and knows I carried a gun to at and from work. But now that I have a CCW it's a whole new ball game to me. (I've even been known to carry into a movie, but don't tell anyone).

OH hey, is there anything I should do to the Glock BEFORE I use it for a pack gun (Besides new sights). It's a box stock Gen 1 IF I remember correctly)

You know, IF I have to buy a new gun to put in this bag, after talking to the trooper that just walked in there might be three possibilities.

1. G26 that you talked about Gary. Nice little guns.
2. G43 single stack 9mm, also a nice little gun.
3. Beretta PX4 compact, 3.2 inch barrel. This would give me compatibility (Magazine wise) with my PX4 full size AND CX4!

Commonality of fire controls would be nice, BUT... We will see what I ultimately come up with.

DOH! I need to sell some guns. It seems I have enough that I keep forgetting about some of them from time to time.

I already have the PERFECT gun for my new Malaga Gearslinger.
It's my single stack, 9mm Sig Sauer P225! It's already been sent to the SPA for treatment by one of the Premier (at the time, probably about 15 years ago) Sig Smiths, John Quintrall (he is now out of the gun business). And after a lot of rounds, it is 100 percent reliable and fits me like a glove.

I guess it pays to talk guns with the cops! smile

It holds 8 rounds in the magazine and I have 6 total so having a spare or two with it won't be a problem. Maybe I need to buy a few more spares.

Here's a rather good review of this "Old Time" Sig.
