I've owned a couple of pair of Ozark boots. They were better than I expected from WalMart. IIRC, they lasted quite a while but weren't quite as comfortable as boots that cost 2 or 3 times more (as to be expected). I also remember them causing my feet to sweat. However, I think I wore them for a long time. I've not had as good of luck with Target's store brand.
I really like ALTAMA brand when they can be found on clearance. The problem is they have to be ordered online so you won't know how they fit or feel until they arrive. Return shipping can negate any "savings". I wore them Tuesday and all day (2230-1900) Wednesday. They felt good and my feet didn't sweat any more than normal. I got the medium or wide width (not sure which they are) and they REALLY feel comfortable. Hopefully they will last for a while.

Ours here had some really nice looking Leather boots, but they were all steel toe! Don't need those, plus they're cold in the winter.

I Guess my statement was unfair. I used to wear zipper military boots, where the zipper was laced in the front. They sucked and always were coming unzipped. These new side zippers that have a "Stop" to keep them from coming undone might be OK. How are they as far as providing good lateral support?

We were issued some side zipper boots (well still are), mine lasted a whole two weeks before I binned them and went to a pair of Bates ICBs. In the bush I wear Zamberlans or Danner.

My LiteSpeeds last about 18 months of working in an office, construction sites, and walking around in (buildings, demo sites, fields, shop areas, warehouses, factories, etc). I'm in my boots about 11-12 hours a day. Granted, I'm not military so they're not being treated that harshly, but I do spend a lot of time around construction.
I've had one pair in the past five years that would start to unzip after about 8 hours. I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th pair in five years. The pair I'm wearing today have about 6-8 months left.
After I retire a pair from "office duty" I start wearing them: on the farm (when we owned it); remodeling houses, to the range.
For the price, they've been great boots.
