I haven't used mine for anything other than trimming some small branches and twigs along with the mundane paper and boxe, string, that sort of thing. Oh and cutting up some burgers and steaks. I reserve my Bussekin blades for the rough stuff.

I have:
 Super CQC-8
 CQC-7 black
 CQC-7 stonewashed
I put them in storage and can’t find them right now. I don’t remember what the other one is.
The Super CQC-8 is very big and heavy for a folder and has a blade that is over 4” long. It is quite sturdy.

I have looked at some of his "Super" versions, and YUP they are big and burly, and to me overpriced. But then again I am cheap.

I like a few of Emersons designs, but I think all his knives are overpriced for the materials they are made of. Like everything else, your paying for the name mostly. Just like the Randall knives, they are super nice hand forged knives, but your mostly paying for the name.

I agree with you ALMOST 100% (let's say 99.99) Yeah I do think they are over priced but I got into them with the fixed and combat karambit and well, it just snowballed from there. Needless to say I don't figure I will be buying any more unless I am REALLY impressed, and so far the only thing I am salivating over are the "Hawks" he came out with. And I am NOT going to pay that price. Don't even go to his site any more, I just look at the emails I get from his company. So far I am not impressed enough to go looking further.

I think his knives are nice and there is nothing wrong with 154 cm steel, but for that price I would think he would be using the newer "super steels" like CPM-20 CV, M390 or S35VN.

I agree. But I guess he is just gonna stick with what he knows figuring it's good enough, and it is. One thing is for sure, his knives are not for everyone and I figure I won't be getting any more because HOPEFULLY I won't have to worry about getting into a "furball" like we used to say. I've been in a few in my LE career and really don't want to get involved in any more. I now carry my knive(s) for utility and the off chance they MIGHT be needed where a gun can not be carried but a blade can.
