I spent this morning working on one of my favorite knives, the HRLM. First I stripped the paint. Then I ground a larger choil. Then I started a satin finish (which is not quite done). ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/HRLM002.jpg) Even my fat fingers can use the choil now. You can see why I am not a hand model. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/HRLM003.jpg) I think it went well. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/HRLM004.jpg)
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Thank you gentlemen. Just taking a break from the grinding. These things can't be rushed. There is still that hollow ground area that looks darker in the pics. I must carefully and slowly remove the steel from around it. Right now I'm using 180 grit. Once I get it down to where it all reflects back the same, I'll go to a 500 grit and tone it down to a fine satin brushed look. I'm taking a break while the steel cools. I could use water, put I needed a break anyway. The blade never gets too hot to hold, so I'm not worried about the temper.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

bld522, a 20 dollar marine raider w/ vic's grind would be the best deal in knife history.
