I have thought for quite a while that Glocks were the Lynn Thompson of the Gun world. They WORK, just now maybe as well as they are hyped to be.

I’ve seen a lot of pistols go down. From all brands. Think a lot of people don’t realize how important proper lubricant is and doing schedules maintenance and part replacement. While I shoot glock as my main carry gun and one of my competition pistols I think there are other good options out there.

As long as you buy a good quality gun, you NORMALLY won't have much to worry about for a casual shooter. Now if you put thousands of rounds a year through your gun, in the long run it might be more cost effective to buy a gun designed and built for that kind of use.

While I shoot glock as my main carry gun and one of my competition pistols I think there are other good options out there. I've shot 10s upon 10s of thousands of rounds through all sorts of guns. Some need more maintenance than others. Some are just bad designs. Some have really poor quality materials. Some have terrible QC. I can't tell you how many AR15s I've "fixed" for someone ... by putting a little Royal Purple on their bone dry BCG. Glocks are very popular because I think the majority of them work. Having said that, they've developed an undeserved fanboy following. They're cheaply made, poorly engineered (this is coming from someone with degrees in architecture and engineering .. who is licensed to practice both), and utilize low quality materials (MIM, stamped steel, poor coatings, etc). Gaston Glock is brilliant ... as a self-promoter and in marketing. He actually convinced the shooting public that the Gen 5 "Marksman Barrel" (which is cheaper to make because of its rifling type) is superior to the longer wearing and equally accurate (we're talking about Glocks ... with so much frame to slide slope you can see some of the recoil spring through the gap on some guns) to the earlier Polygonal rifled barrels. Marketing genius. Oh, and front cocking serrations and more MIM doesn't qualify for a "new model". Just added it up ... I've owned 57 Glocks over the past 25+ years in 9MM, 40SW, 45 ACP, 45 GAP, 10MM.

Back when I had a C&R FFL and Class 3 I would get unsolicited "industry" literature. One periodical had an interesting article regarding the shooting habits of the "gun culture". The article cited a lot of sources for raw data, but concluded the average American gun owner shoots less than one box of ammo through their firearm per year. It stated the average non-wing hunter shoots between 20 and 40 rounds a year. The average wing-hunter shoots between 200-500 rounds a year. I committed the stats to memory for posterity.

I shoot Wolf 223 and Wolf 308 almost exclusively due to cost.
9MM, 40SW, 45ACP is usually Remington UMC, S&B, Fiocchi, Federal. I've never had a single round of steel case handgun ammo.

I do have some brass case 308 for my LMT MWS for accuracy work.
My Ruger M77 has frequent light primer strikes on Wolf 308 (which is actually REALLY good ammo). No other 308 I've used has the same problem. I've spoken to several people that also get LPS with their Rugers and "hard primer" ammo.

Gary, NOT being a gunsmith, It might be beneficial (If possible at all) to polish the inside of the firing pen tunnel. You can tell I do not know my firearm nomenclature.

OK, I don't speak Greek. What is LMT MWS, and I gather that PPU and GMM is a type of ammo? And Mine, 6.5CM is Creed More?
