I have said it before but I can't get get over how much I like this darn knife. It is great looking ,has a perfect handle and is the smallest knife you can actually chop with. The Hook and my SS4 are the only 2 knives I would never sell. Compared to my M6 the extra inch and recurve make it so much more useful as a chopping tool and the weight and overall length is barely noticeable. I even like it much more than my DF which is ugly and clumsy in comparison.
It is both a first rate fighter and survival knife. I think I will grind an edge into the back clip to make it an even better fighter and to personalize it a bit.
Thank you Dan, this knife is one of those rare objects that seems to embody a bit of my personality. It will be the one I grab whether I am going camping or going to war and I plan on keeping it until the day I die. Maybe longer if they bury me with it like I asked.
In our throw away society it is rare to have something speak to our souls anymore. Things like kick only hardtail shovelhead choppers and 80 year old milsurp rifles that are tackdrivers with 2 feet of steel bayonet hanging of the end of the barrel are becoming rare in our society that wants the latest tech gizmo that will be outdated garbage in 6 years.

I really need to get the Hook out and beat it up a little - but I feel a very strong attachment to my Dogfather, and when couple w/ the DM they make the perfect pair.
I got a nice diamond rod sharpener for my Hook though - since it would be a pain in the butt to sharpen in the field w/out one. If I could only take one knife with me for survival, the hook would be it!

I got the Guard instead, but it is a great knife!
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Ahh, almost wish I'd pulled the trigger on the guard.. I just couldn't get passed my sharpening worries over the recurve as I Lansky my blades.
Both the guard and hooker look great knives, good scores all of you!
I think I like my DF more than Unsub likes his! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just use a EZlap pen sharpener, they also work for serrations. The Hooker7 and my SS4 are my perfect pair.
