It's a nice visit, but you will probably be disappointed. I mean when we went there it was surrounded by all kinds of stores selling all sorts of ALAMO trinkets. I couldn't get over (I was a kid) the contrast between the Alamo and all the modern stores just across the street.

It's really sad the way that Texas let the Alamo be encroached upon. It should be treated as the treasure that it is. I have spent considerable time on the computer checking it out, and I really want to see it.

Well I really enjoyed it, even if there are "Modern" buildings just feet away.

I was already aware of that.
