The large basic muddier, and war dog. I’d love to see what a large blade with the regulator handle would be like though. I feel like that could become a favorite.

Mike, I think that an appropriate Mudder handle (about the size of the Regulator handle) would be GREAT on "Da Choppas" as Arnie would say. That downward bend toward the lanyard loop would only help to keep it in your hand as you do your best Paul Bunyan swing. Maybe Dan could start a side business Putting different handles on the Bussekin Knives!

At some point I may attempt to calculate the results and post the winners.

Thought I’d use the following system to score the selections ...

First place gets 3 points
Second place gets 2 points
Third place gets 1 point

Most points = favorite
Second highest = second favorite
Lowest points = third place

Dan,
Based upon the results how hard would it be to offer the same knife model with the option of a Mudder or Basic handle? I ASSuME they could have the same tang length so the pommel rivet would align.

Just a thought.

EDIT: just waking up and still in a brain fog. Mudder didn’t use a rivet so maybe my idea wouldn’t work (if the basic tang is too long to fit in a Mudder).

Hi! I'm the same guy as on BladeForums with this name.

It's a great question Dan – thank you for asking. Here's my vote:

1 = Basic handle (new style)
2 = Regulator handle (rank would be 1 for larger knives)
3 = Mudder handle

My first experience with a Regulator handle was on the AR 9.5, and I'm glad I ordered one! On heavy knives, this handle definitely gives more control. I'm guessing the 1311 would feel better with a Regulator handle (by "better" I mean the user would have more control of the relatively heavy blade). I have a BB13CG, and a Regulator handle would definitely feel better, especially with all of the forward weight.

I'm glad the site is up & running again; I'll try to hang out here more often.

Gene
