Ha ha ha, you funny man, you make me laugh. NO, it's for putting on the leather strop to allow for "Honing" a knife's edge Versus sharpening, which removes a LOT more metal. Honing a knife will keep it sharp longer without having to remove excessive material. Ya big Ninny!

So far, so good. We will see. My only experience with "rods" of this type have been the EZ-lap model M. But it only comes in fine (600) grit and sometimes I like something a little more aggressive. If this works out I might get another.

I'm for sure, NOT sharpener poor. I have an EZ-Lap model M in each knife sheath pouch (3 so far), plus one in my Fatboy bag and now this new one. GOT to have sharpeners available.
