Looking good Ian!

I'm a bit Jealous Ian. I went on vacation in late June and early July in a travel Trailer. I haven't made it out to the back country yet. Due to quarantines and every time I try to take the kiddo out on the ATV's for some hammock camping the weather turns nasty.

Now, I won't be able to hit the backcountry until my leg heals up and by then it will be deep into winter.

Here's to hoping 2021 is better that 2020 has been.

If surgery goes well, I will be healed just before I retire. So It should give me a bit more time to enjoy the back country. At least until I get bored and start working somewhere again.

The thought of retirement sounds appealing but at the same time scares the heck out of me. 34 years staying busy with little down time. 28 of those in this career field. It's going to be hard to walk away.

Without drawing a line in the sand, My wife has made it painfully clear she is ready for me to retire. Especially after this last injury. Heck the one less than 3 weeks before was bad enough. She didn't even let me get to the sidewalk of the ER before she asked me to quit. In front of my Lt.

Once I am at maximum medical improvement and can return to work, I will make up the time that my retirement has frozen, I will submit my retirement paperwork and start getting my house ready to sell.

At times I'm really looking forward to it and other times I am already regretting it.

I know what you are saying MB. I was sorta the same way, but I was just so tired and burned out I KNEW it was time to call it quits. I wanted go to until the November election this year to see the Sheriff through this term but I just had to get out. It was telling on my and In that job getting forgetful or making the wrong decisions, as you know, can be dangerous. It was the right decision and the right time for me.

I am envious of you Ian. Looks REALLY nice and relaxing.

Skunk I hear you. I'm just tired. The current politics and media sure don't help. I'm going to just have to jump in with both feet. I think it will be easier once we sell the house and move. I'm busy pulling up roots here.
