It's snowing pretty well here right now. It's been spitting snow all day but it looks like we will get a few inches of snow tonight. The high country is expecting a couple of feet of snow.
My wife and I went to look at a couple of chairs for the living room and ended up buying 2 new chairs and a couch. Who would have thought regular chairs cost more than recliners?

Some rougher weather headed our way; rain, freezing rain, possible snow and strong winds, perfect for taking down power lines. I'm glad that I'm a prepper.

That's actually what got me to start stocking up and prepping years ago. I used to live in a small mountain town and power outages were common. Either weather-related or some joker shooting transformers and other parts in remote areas. It was easy to get cut off from stores due to snow or rock falls blocking roads. It was nice to not really have to sweat any of those issues. If I really needed something I could take the forest service trails to a bigger town to re-up.

Just checked and Alexia says no freezing rain or temps for us through the weekend. Hope she’s correct.

Yup, having a good supply of shelf stable food along with a genset and fuel stores makes life easy when it is suppose to get rough! Finally wired in a full transfer switch a couple years ago and the only downside is that I have no idea what to do with all the extra extension cords I have now... Had a 3 or 4 day power outage a few years ago. Almost felt guilty watching TV and playing games on my laptop to pass the time...

A few years ago some folks were out of power for a couple of weeks, but we were warm, well fed, and hydrated. I also keep extra water on hand for flushing toilets, and keep MANY bottles of water for drinking and cooking. It is actually more inconvenient to not have water than it is to not have electricity. A few extra 12 volt batteries and power inverters kept us well lit as well.
