Ray, I had an officers model way way back in the ‘80s. Carried nice, but didn’t really care for that short of a bbl. SEVERAL years later I got a Springfield V10 ultra compact. Shot nice and carried well. BUT when I qualified with it and it took wood off the barricade position, I got rid of it because I didn’t want it doing to me what it did to the barricade. I guess now that I think about it more, I’ve had 6 or maybe 7 1911 pistols over the years, and this is the best one. And the somewhat rarity is a plus. Now I just need a set of Ivory Micarta slimline compact grips with a Templar Knight or the Gunsite Raven on them. (girls ain’t the only ones that like a little bling)  As a side note, I once had a Cylinder & Slide Hi Power that he worked on for me when I was stationed in Omaha. STUPIDLY I got rid of it the second time I went over seas. Crazy with his reputation, but back then I bet his shop wasn’t but about 30 X 40 or so, maybe.

FINALLY found some 45 Ammo. A hundred rounds for a Buck a pop! But I was able to get it for 80. Still way to much, but I need some practice Ammo. Don’t want to be shooting my Federal HST duty Ammo for practice rounds. But I got a nice gun to shoot them through. Oh and I got a Fobus belt holster for $24.00. Guess I came out OK on that one. And yes, it is new.

OK. Heard back from Colt today. Said their archives showed they made 100 of that particular gun for Gunsite. Guess maybe I did do OK after all.

Nope, carry it every day so far. Later will probably put it in and take out my Glock 48. BUT I could carry my Ruger 1911CMD or my Full size Colt1991A1 I had “Modified”. Decisions decisions.

Hehe, it is. . Seriously, I have been very fortunate. I didn’t have a “plan” for things to go like they have, was just fortunate that it just happened. And as a plus it has allowed us to help out some folks having a lot tougher times than us a few times.
