VA7 BGR here
I don't have a shack, but I do have a few Ht's and a TYT 9800 in my truck.
Maybe when I retire I will have time for a shack and an HF setup

Welcome to a fellow ham. Coyotebc. That TYT 9800 looks interesting and much cheaper than the Yaesu. How does it perform for you? I’ve run a very simple inverted V wire antenna in my back yard for many years and made some very interesting contacts including antarctica. Of course. I can’t compete in contests with guys using tri-banders on 100’ towers but I still have a lot of fun. I hope you can put together a shack.

Yes but it sucks, as does the Abbotsford one

It works okay, but I only really use the 2m and 70cm bands
I may be getting rid of the current antenna and getting a dual band one.
I 4x4 and the current antenna needs to be folded down when offloading.

I picked up a Ruger PCC takedown. Kind of a neat little rig. It uses Glock mags and breaks down and assembles really quick. I shot a friend's on Monday a got a decent deal on one today. It's surprisingly fun to shoot and far more accurate than I would have expected.

This is probably going to be my truck gun.

When I am camping I usually have either a Rossi Ranch Hand (44 remmag) with a full stock.
12" barrel swings nice
Or a short barrelled (12 inch) pump shotgun
Easy to stow, easy to carry

Recently purchased
For myself
4 soft shackles
20 ft long 7/8 diameter kinetic recovery rope

For a good friend of mine as a gift to celebrate him buying his first 4x4

2 soft shackles
Set of torx bits (needed for a jeep)
Flex head 3/8 drive ratchet with 2 extensions and 2 spark plug sockets
Pair of mechanics gloves
Tool bag
Gerber folding knife
Sani-kit (tp, hand sani, compressed cloth)

He had a decent kit in his old 2 wheel drive explorer, but I just rounded up a few things for him

See, that’s why you’re such a good guy Bill. You got more for your friend than you did yourself.

I like mine a lot but just be heads up on extractor issues MB. Mine was flawless for 800 rounds then turned into a stovepipe machine. An upgraded extractor and it was gtg again...but seems to be a common issue.

Thanks for the heads up RN. I have heard they had some extractor issues. I will probably try to find an upgraded aftermarket one and install it right off. Which extractor did you go with?
