Being a thrifty person and needing another hobby, I enrolled in a watch repair course and bought some tools. Since I have about 20 watches, I could save some money or mess up some watches. I have started taking apart a non running pocket watch from the late 1800’s. Very interesting so far.

I have a couple Rolexes that could bear looking at.
One is a 1984 Submariner, self winding. The other is probably a 1954 Oyster Precision manual wind. (both are calendar versions)

I've been debating picking up a nice vintage Rolex. Not much of a watch guy though and seems alot to take in. Getting started keeps overwhelming me lol

They ain’t cheap. I paid a grand for my Mariner in 1988. Bought it off an Air Force Lt. Col while stationed in Japan. The other one I paid fifty bucks in 1986 or ‘87.

I think I got gremlins in my iPad. I KNOW I didn’t type it that way.
I changed it to 1986 or ‘87 for the old one and 1988 for the Submariner.

If I am that old, it’s because of all the Pickleing I did to my body while I was stationed at Shemya in the Aleutian Islands.

I have bought some solar panel items and a few Carothers knives, along with stocking up on pet foods and supplies.

What did you get from Carothers, Tom? I bought a Utility Fighter a few months ago and like it a lot.

I bought a UF2 and four of the BFK's, two regular and two ghetto satin. They really know how to put a fantastic edge and point on a blade ! wink
