We took a quick drive out to Camas on the back roads.

I missed the massive Sandhill Crane Migration. There were a thousand or so here this time last week. But I counted at least 70 Sandhill Cranes. Plenty of Antelope, Mule Deer and a couple Bald Eagles.

The Sandhill Cranes appeared to be family units with adults and this years chicks. The young ones kept flying off and then right back testing their wings for a really long migration.

They are interesting to watch. They are usually paired off and they are prone to dancing around at seemingly random times.

Yeah they’re pretty awesome MB. Sounds like Y’all had a nice day. Howls the Missus doing with retirement?

Definitely sounds like a nice day M/B. Around here the vultures are heading out and the hawks are moving in. On rare occasions we will see a bald eagle ; there are some nesting pairs around Stockton lake, about 15 miles from us.

Morning Yard!

Randy, The wife is enjoying retirement. Way more time to do more stuff. It won't be too long before we are empty nesters and have even more opportunities to travel.

Doesn’t seem as if the (former) runt can be that old.

Retirement is great ! We are already planning to travel next year as my legs will be healed and we can enjoy the travel. One of the intended places is the Alamo and surrounding area. I wanted to visit there this year but the knee replacements had priority. I would also like to visit some of the National Parks in the western states.

Good morning Yard. Today is my pre-op appointment and Iovera treatment for my knee. Afterwards I am going to let the General take me to an early dinner while we are in town.
