We are under a severe thunderstorm watch until later tonight. If we lose TV reception I guess I will have to chase the General around the house. I'm just picturing her with a broom and a spray bottle... "Get DOWN Private!" [smack! smack!] "Bad dog! Bad dog! Keep your filthy paws off my clean dress!" [spritz! spritz!] Tom slinks off onto the porch, tail between his legs, sad and wet... Not sure why that image is so funny to me Or maybe it's not as much funny as it is familiar

I need ideas folks! My wife said I need to go do something fun with a bunch of friends to mark my birthday. Somehow, I don't think she meant taking a leak on a flaming cake...
The only things I can think of that would be really fun are:
- Taking a long-range shooting at the 1000 yard range in WV or down in southern VA ($1k/ person)
- Chartering a boat to go shark or marlin fishing. ($1200-1500 + hotel)
- Chartering a bear, gator, or hog hunt. ($1k-2k/person)
-- Surf Fishing trip to the beach... maybe sneak off at night to shoot a gator or hog for a few hundred...
Unfortunately, all those things are pretty darn expensive.
Anyone have any cheaper ideas?
I suppose if I could sucker...I mean trick...er, bamboozle(?) some friends into chipping in, the fishing trip would be more doable...

You could pick a nice fancy dinner in that swanky restaurant you’ve always wanted to eat at and invite your wife to join you. I mean you could IF you wanted to.

Oh and yeah, the broom and water bottle would be hilarious.

I mean I COULD, but neither of us would find much joy in dropping a few hundred on a meal... "upscale chain" is about as fancy as we ever get. "Bucket of chicken and five dollar grocery store sushi" is more likely Besides, this is her idea. I'd as soon stay home and buy another pistol or case of ammo

Well Josh, you're too late for this year's Blade Show, but keep it in mind for the future. In the meantime, take a nice relaxing camping trip by a lake and do some fishing.
