The reason I say use a phone is in another life. If I took electronic media as evidence, I would place the item in a faraday bag until we could extract the info. It prevented bad actor from remotely wiping electronic evidence until we could extract it in a lab.

I just read one of the greatest bits of wisdom I’ve ever heard tell of.
“You don’t leave the creators of a problem in charge of the solution”.

Morning Yard!
Been up and at it for a bit. Watering the garden and picking vegetables.
It finally got cool enough for my tomatoes to ripen. I may have enough to make a big batch of spaghetti sauce to can. I need at least 25lbs of Roma's to make it happen. If I don't have a bunch of blossom rot I should be ok.
Hopefully my garlic grew well. I want to try and use most everything in the sauce from what we grew at home.

It prevented bad actor from remotely wiping electronic evidence until we could extract it in a lab. I wasn’t talking about commercial Faraday bags but about DIY stuff like a 55 gal. barrel or a garbage can. There could be gaps in the welded seams. The author of the article said that EMP radiation could enter a very small gap. That’s why he said testing by a phone wasn’t good enough. I have no idea if he was correct.

Even with rubber seals around the lids, wouldn’t the metal overlapping each side provide a shield? There should be metal to metal contact between the lid and body of the can with no gaps or else it won’t be a Faraday cage.
