It’s official. We’re gonna start looking for a new vehicle tomorrow. Patty doesn’t like buying used so we will probably start with the New Ford Maverick. Don’t know what would be a cheaper, entry level Escape size SUV.

In late 2016 we bought a 2017 Toyota Camry and we have loved it ever since then. In "Consumers Report" they are always rated as #1 or 2 for reliability, and we consistently get 34 to 38 MPG. On a trip to Illinois the General managed to get 40 MPG. We have never had a problem with it and will definitely consider it if / when we get a new car. We even drove around the massive plant when we were in Louisville where it was built.

With my back problems and Patty’s hip and back trouble we are wanting something easy in easy out. We’re thinking pickup or SUV because you don’t have to set down them. They’re pretty much a straight slide in or out. Now if w3 could find a car like that…

As bad as I hate to say it the Subaru Outback and Cross trek are the front runners.

I got a chance to drive the Outback for a day at work. I was very impressed with how comfortable it was and the perfect height to get in and out of. Plus they do really well in the snow.

It impressed me enough to get over my intense dislike of the Outback in general.

Subaru is another great vehicle for sure. They run 1st or 2nd in Consumers Report along with Toyota, depending on the model.
