Afternoon yard!
Not too bad here, so I was able to get some work done outside.
2 new batteries in the truck and spent way too much time cleaning corrosion off the battery terminals.
I made a new door panel for the chicken coop. A way smaller door that fits tighter, so there should be less drafts this winter. Plus a better lock to keep predators out.

Sounds good M/B. I think the only way we could keep chickens around here is if we used hardware cloth all the way around including the top in order to keep predators at bay. On a different note, two brothers I allowed to bow hunt on my land nailed a nice eight pointer. They plan on getting a doe and will slide some venison my way.

He's not too worried Ray, the value of his gold stash rose as well. HA! Have you tried importing a pound of caviar from Russia?

Hardware mesh is a must. A racoon will drag chickens through a surprisingly small ventilation hole in a hen house.
We have to cover the chicken run with wire due to raptors. We have a ton of hawks and more than a few Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles near the house throughout the year.

We have plenty of hawks as well, along with an occasional eagle. Coyotes, racoons, skunks, armadillos, and opossums abound as well. That's not counting the stray dogs that jerks dump off when they either can't take care of them or get tired of them.

Next year I will reach my allotted three score and ten years. HOPEFULLY I’ll make it quite a bit longer than that.

Evening Yard!
Absolutely gorgeous day here. Sunny and 60.
I got the leaves cleaned up in the yard and the back lot mowed. Hopefully, for the last time this year for both.
I put some new night sights on one of my old duty pistols. I went a whole different direction. I wanted to try out the ghost ring sights. So far they have some potential. They are easier to use with both eyes open. They are also pretty quick on target. I do suspect they won't be quiet as accurate at distance but I imagine they will be serviceable well over 25 yards.
I need to head to the range to verify. I just used my laser dry fire system with it and it has me being hopeful. It seems pretty easy to pick up with my aging eyes.
If nothing else it will be an interesting experiment.

I’ve read several articles about them MB, and yeah they are supposed to be pretty good.
