Ray, you are one lucky man.

My father was greatly interested in the Civil War, and on a trip to Norfolk Virginia to visit my Uncle and family (Navy) we stopped at Gettysburg and Washington D.C. Supposedly one of my relatives has a picture of a relative in a Confederate uniform, though I have never seen it. My mother's side of the family goes back quite a ways in Kentucky.

Tom, on my father’s side, our family started in New England in the early 1700’s. In the early 1800’s my ancestors moved to Ohio and then Indiana. My great grandfather joined an Indiana regiment during the Civil War and ended up in Alabama. His son moved to Alabama, married a local girl and settled down. My father was born there. My father was in New England during WW2, married a local girl, and settled down in New England and completed the circle.

Sorr,y, I know that was too long a story but I always enjoy telling it.

Its been a bit. Between work and my MIL passing I haven't spent much time on the internet.

I think its going to be a nearly spring here. Despite the snow its been in the 40s nearly everyday. Red wing black birds and Gold finches are already here. This is April and May weather for here. Unfortunately that means several months of mud.
