Did you inspect the guide rod to see if it is broken? It is my understanding that they are two-piece guide rods and I have heard of them breaking and even portions falling out of the pistol. I'm not super familiar with the Hellcat. Do the pieces screw together? Maybe came loose?

Not broken MB. After disassembly, cleaning and lubing it up and then putting it back together I used the same bullet that was stuck. Yup, same problem. Then after extracting the stuck round again, I put in a hollow point (they are shorter) and it worked just fine. Go figure. Hopefully Springfield will have some kind of answer for me. I just can’t believe that a round will jam up a gun like that to include not firing the stuck round.

Don’t know about being screwed together MB, but after I got the gun apart then back together it was the normal length.

Ok I tried it a couple times with the same results. Wolf Gold Brass cased ammo stuck. Brass cased hollow points (imi and Federal) didn’t. Tried a different box if the same Wolf ball ammo, worked OK. Tried the “sticking” ammo in my H&K VP9SK, NO PROBLEMS! So I’m guessing that maybe my Hellcat has a tight(er) chamber. If it does, it does.

But that still doesn’t explain the problem I had with the recoil spring/guide rod coming out the front by at least a quarter inch. Since then, there’s not been a problem. Then again I haven’t shot it since then either, only hand cycling it and letting the slide drop with the slide release. Hopefully Springfield Armory will respond back and have some kind of answer for me.

My Final answer is (as best as I can figure) the chamber on the Hellcat is on the tight side. Some of the Wolf Gold Brass cased ammo is slightly oversized near the bottom end. There the refusal to go completely into battery (round won’t fire) and cartridge stuck in the chamber until the barrel/slide is moved apart probably less than 1/16 inch, then the round ejects just fine.

Now I’m beginning to think, should I hand cycle each round I’m gonna carry? Seems excessive, but I personally feel living is a necessary requirement.

I had a failure to go into battery problem with one of my competition guns and prior to a match, I would remove the barrel and hand chamber each round to insure that they would chamber correctly. After 2 matches, I became very tired of this tedious process and changed to a different gun. A long way to say that I wouldn’t trust that Hellcat until the problem was corrected. I wouldn’t trust it as a carry gun. Besides, it’s not like that’s the only carry gun you have.

I tried a different box (several rounds) and nary a problem. Mind you, this is ONLY with the Wolf Gold Ball practice ammo. And even that cycled just fine in my H&K.

Got my C&G AIWB holster for my VP9SK with WML yesterday. I am VERY impressed. I have a lot of holsters, both leather (one costing close to 300 dollars) and Kydex. I have to say that this one is the most comfortable holster (besides the custom leather one for my King Cobra) that I have ever used. And this one is A kydex AIWB. It is a good high quality thicker Kydex and is VERY well molded. Then next in quality I would have to say is my WERKZ holster that houses my Hellcat with a WML on it.

If I rated my Colt holster as #1 then this one would have to be 1a. It feels that good so far. Time will tell but I have high hopes for it.
I’ll give it a longer test tomorrow as Patty has a Dr appointment mid morning and that means I’ll be wearing it for a good 5-8 hours. Not that I’d wear a gun into a Dr office. But IF I did, all our Dr’s are good with it. grin One of our doctors said he hates me. Said I get to wear a gun but if “They” caught him wearing one they’d fire him. And he doesn’t really hate me and Every time we see him I have to show him what gun I’m carrying. Er um I mean what gun I would be carrying. wink

I checked probably 8 or 9 Kydex makers and they didn’t offer the VP9SK with the TLR-7 light. They did make one with the TLR-1 light though. Let me back up, I DID find a couple (besides C&G holsters) but after looking at their designs and “quality”, I just wasn’t impressed. Of the 3 I did see, Architect recommended C&G and I’m glad I went with his recommendation. He’s saved me a lot of money over the years.

Afternoon Dawgs. Well, I wore the new holster today for 7 hours. And I must say it rivals IF NOT BETTERS the comfort of my TTGunleather holster. Plus the ONLY way you could tell I had it on was cause my belly made it pooch out some when sitting down. But to the average Sheeple it looked like my shirt was just kinda laying over. I LIKE THIS HOLSTER. So, if you’re looking for a good holster (specially one for a WML), I HIGHLY recommend them. Great quality fit and finish with a VERY satisfying snap when you get the gun properly seated in the holster.

But I did notice one thing, and this may just be limited to my gun/light combo, is that to SMOOTHLY withdraw the gun I have to ever so slightly cant the grip forward toward the muzzle. No biggie and actually I feel makes it more secure.

Mine ran 90. Bucks with the full sweat guard and a pair of soft loops. Oh, and my “Problem” with having to cant the grip forward is, I think, because I wasn’t drawing it straight up. I was pulling the grip back just a bit while drawing.
