Hi Ho hi Ho it’s off to the Doctor we go. Supposed to be partly cloudy and 99 degrees today. I figure after the Dr we will be coming back home and staying inside. This heat is workin on me this year.

We have started using the smoker when it is too hot to use the oven or stove. It keeps the heat out of the house. The bonus is, smoked apple pie is strangely delicious.

About 12:30 here. Temperature finally broke 80° . Should be high of 82° today.

I had never heard of it before a friend introduced me to it. It's pretty good but not what you'd think. It's subtle. They bake in their pellet smoker a lot during the summer. I'm probably going to try a little this summer. I did smoke some of my Bacon Jalapeno mac and cheese this spring. It was tasty. Normally I put it in the oven for 30 minutes or so.

Y’all are makin me hungry. Guess I better break out the Cup O’soup. Oh it’s 96 here now.

I used the cooler part of the day to get some work done. I had a bunch of low-hanging limbs on some trees and shrubs that were making mowing a literal pain. So I took a chainsaw and limb lopper to trees and shrubs. Got half the mowing done when it was cooler. I spent a few hours getting an old gas generator up and running again. When I moved 3 years ago I thought I had drained all the fuel out of it. In fact, I had not. The fuel lines looked like they were filled with old honey. I drained everything, removed the fuel petcock, took apart the carb, and cleaned everything up.

It runs like a champ now. Unfortunately, the circuit breaker must have gotten broken during the move. A big piece was missing from the side of the breaker housing and you couldn't get the breaker turned on. I was able to order one without much issue. The motor is running and idling up when it needs to, the power meter is showing I have the proper amount of juice. I just need to replace the breaker and it should be good to go again.

We have had a rash of power outages this year. Snow snapped miles of powerlines in a freak storm late winter/early spring. We had an outage last night across most of the area. Today the other side of town has no power since a trash truck took out a power pole. The same area had some guy run from the local constabulatory and smash a pole causing another outage last month.

I'm hedging my bets. A Solar generator and a gas generator should get me by for a little bit if the pattern keeps up.

A storm is supposed to move in overnight so I'm mowing today. Just taking a short break and then back at it. Once I'm done mowing that's all for today ; air conditioning and television.

Storms for our area. LOTS of lightening but not a drop of rain. Hot and muggy, just the ticket but nothing but lightening and thunder to the north of us. Weird.

The storm moved in with plenty of lightning and thunder, and it's raining. Really glad I got the mowing done.

Well about a half hour after my last post the lightening ramped up, big time. Then it started to rain. The thunder kept is pretty much up all night off and on. Now it’s just rain but the temp is 71 so we’ll take it.
