I don’t like ‘lectric watches. I also am old and wear windup (my old one was made in ‘54 or ‘55) or self winding (made in ‘84’. Annnd, like a timex, a ROLEX takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

In all honesty, my first one, ( Oyster date just, and it IS real) only cost me 50 bucks. Then I had to pay 450 to get it brought back to Rolex specs. Still quite a bargain.
My second one (the Submariner) I got in ‘88 for a grand. I was living in the barracks (yes, I had ONE roommate for about a year) and also drawing full housing allowance along with food. So that extra funds Y’all were payin me allowed me to get it.

I'm taking a short break from mowing, have about another hour or so to go. If it gets hot and dry like predicted then maybe I can get by for another ten days to two weeks ..................... I hope.

It kinda surprises me what will “kick my butt” now days. Was out walkin through a dry creek bed the other day after going to the range. Let’s just say I didn’t last as long as I thought I should.

Finally some cooler weather here. It was 47 when I got up this morning. Supposed to stay in the mid 70's today. I'll take it.

I got all my weekly chores done yesterday so I'm set to work on fall projects and stuff I want to do for the next few days.
